Mr. Thönig has been working in the rail vehicle sector for over 40 years. Companies such as JENBACHER WERKE AG, INTEGRAL Verkehrstechnik AG and MOLINARI Rail Austria GmbH were among his employers. In the course of his activities at the above-mentioned companies, he was responsible for the following work:

• Technical handling of engineering projects in the field of interior constructions
• Support of the sales department, cooperation in the preparation of offer calculations and technical offer texts
• Consulting and support of customers as engineering service
• Selection of optimal (technically, in time and price) subcontracted parts through close contacts with purchasing and subcontracting companies
• Achieving low total cost of procurement, manufacturing, operation and maintenance
• Incorporation/implementation of project-specific objectives for reliability, availability and maintainability as well as for the design
• Supporting design reviews, risk analyses, FMEA's and safety considerations
• Ensuring smooth order processing by supporting other departments (technical information, coordination), technical clarification with suppliers and production
• Support for vehicle approvals or vehicle commissioning by preparing test documentation and assisting with vehicle commissioning
• Feedback of findings, defects, design errors or new (better) production methods into the design as well as product development
• Continuous observation and consideration of the state of the art, relevant standards as well as current directives, regulations and laws

In the last years Hrr Thönig worked at the company Molinari for the handling of the spare parts business:

• Elaboration of quotations for customer inquiries

• Obtaining of supplier offers with support of the purchasing department

• Cost calculation and coordination of delivery times

• Handling of deliveries, incoming inspection and dispatch
